I have applied open work permit for my spouse with the AOR received from inland pr spousal sponsorship application. I am not much aware of open work permit process but do we get AOR for the open work permit applications too? And can we start working until the decision is made using the AOR of OWP?

You need to wait until the OWP is approved before you can start working.

Ah okay, thought my spouse can work with AOR of OPW. Now it’s a 6 months wait time. Thanks for confirming
Were your spouse under a work permit currently before applying for the OWP?
Or he/she entered as a visitor?

She entered as visitor first and then we submitted inland PR. After receiving AOR from PR, we submitted open work permit. I was told that my spouse will be able to work once we get AOR from open work permit which I believe might not be true

Then scylla is correct that she cannot work until the OWP is approved.
Little confused Bcz for spousal open work permit, I think they can continue with the work since I believe their AOR says u can work. Thought same would be in my case as well. Anyone know wat is the realistic timeline to see open work permit to be approved? Tracker says 6 months though

That is if the applicant already has permission to work before the OWP application. That's why the wording is "continue with the work".
(e.g. student/on a close permit/on a valid open work permit before applying for the OWP and those permit may have now expired)

Since she is a visitor, she cannot start working just because she received AOR of her OWP.

You can continue working if you were previously on a work permit before submitting the OWP. Your partner was not previously on a work permit and is not allowed to work until the actual work permit is approved and issued.

My partner is on study permit and coop work permit when we apply for OWP. And if by the end of study permit, we still don’t get the OWP, can my partner work using AOR, if yes, how many hours can he work?

Hello, I have a few questions that I'm confused on.

Firstly, my submitted my application and my AOR and AIP. But I'm worried about it because my husband's permit got denied in 2023 and the letter told him to leave the country immediately. No date was in the letter nor an official order sent. We submitted a status restoration and got married in the time frame of waiting on the restoration decision. It was sadly denied and we went ahead with the pr application. So my question is does that go heavily against the decision for approval.

Secondly, we got the go ahead for his Open Work Permit and he's been out of status for 2 years do I put the 2 years that he's out of status for or do I submit a restoration and work permit application at the same time?
