Hi Bhullar,Are you from Delhi ?

I have submitted my spouse application at chandigarh India and its open work permit not work permit

Should be done in 30-45 days.

Does your spouse have the open work permit? I am in the same situation as you. My spouse is still in my country and I have the work permit after graduation now. I don't know how my spouse can do the application for open work permit? Where we should send his application? In canada or in the visa office in my country?

Thanks for your answer

I got Rejected my application yesterday. They give stupid reason no travel History it was a open work permit then why they need travel history i don't understand i m really very sad today.I want to appeal but don't know how? It's really very tough time.

Hi SBHULLAR,

I was also looking for information on open work permit.
As per my understanding (I am no expert on this matter ), the person for whom open work permit is being applied, needs to be in Canada.

No it is not necessary. You can apply for OWP from your home country, if your spouse is there.

yes my spouse is in India so he applied from there.Open work permit your spouse can apply if u r a full time student or work permit holder in Canada OWP valid till your study permit or work permit valid. But unfortunately i got rejected my spouse application and the reason they provided is no travel history. May be i will do appeal now for review.
