Can a spouse on spousal open work permit extension application continue working after the elapsed of the IRCC first 6 months authorisation letter to work while the extension application still awaiting approval?

You can work until the decision is made. It should be mentioned in the letter.

"You are authorized to continue working under the same conditions as your original work permit
until 7th July 2025 or until a decision is made on your application, whichever is first." this what my letter says, I am worried about the sentence "whichever is first", does it mean I can stay in Canada but can't work post 7th July?

yeah the wording is weird but that means if the date on the letter pass, you're still good till the decision is made

How is the wording weird? It clearly says OP can work until July 7th or the date application is processed, whichever comes first.

That said, the statement is contradictory to the current rule which does allow work under maintained status.

You can work until the decision is made. Sorry for the confusion caused, I dig deep and found out.
