Hello, I don't know how to confirm that we applied for sponsorship. We sent our applications on Dec.23,2014 and few days later found out about pilot project. So, now we want apply for OWP (old WP will expire on Feb.5) and send application to Vegreville but how to prove that my husband new applicant because we doesn't have a file number yet. Thanks.

This information may just help anyone here re OWP :)

- The Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) is not required when submitting an OWP application. Simply include a letter stating whether you have already submitted a family sponsorship application and did not receive an AOR yet. Include the date when the sponsorship application was submitted.

Good luck and God bless us all :)

Hi - but isnt the OWP application the same as the work permit application?

It mentions that IF YOU HAVE ALREADY applied, you should use IMM5710E. But i havent applied yet, and i read somewhere the work permit application is IMM1295.

Sorry, if the question is slightly stupid, but just thought i'd confirm anyway:)

Just follow the document checklist (which is not on your list, but must also be included).

Yes, IMM5710E is the correct form for OWP

Including the OWP with the Inland application will give you `implied status' (as long as you have valid status when your application is received by CIC). This will allow you to legally remain in Canada without having to renew your current visitor visa.

Be sure to send it with a tracking number and/or delivery confirmation.

Good luck!

That appears to be the form for applying for a WP from OUTSIDE of Canada:
