Open work permit based on spouse’s study permit

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on my open work permit which expires on May 27. However, my wife has applied a studypermit on February 27 for program that starts on May 6, and so I also applied to extend my OP based on that. The normal processing time was only 4 weeks, unfortunately, somehow cic seemed to skip our application and we had to call to inform them about our delay. After informed, they started on our application after 2 weeks of the call (they said there were many requests like this so first come first serve). We finally got study permit and new OP for me. The problem is my wife school has already started and they advised her to move to september term. I understand that she wont be able to do anything untill september. My question is Am I allowed to work while I already got a new OW or also have to wait till September too? We cant not just leave canada and come back in September since the fee for 3 months is not small. It wasnt our faults either. Any idea or advice for me in this case please.

How does your wife keep studying? Would imagine there was some question about your permits since your wife has been studying for many years and is starting a new degree. Yes you can work. Your wife can not. Any children you have will need updated TRVs as well. Your wife may lose her medical coverage until she goes to school depending on where you live.

She got her study permit already without any questions( people apply for sp and getting back to school happens quite often i guess). But it arrived 2 weeks later after her program started. It wasnt our fault too since cic just skipped our application somehow. I understand that my wife cant either study or work. But I want to make sure that Im allowed to work now even though spouse is not attending school untill september( just to mention that my OP based on my Wife SP)
