I am working in Canada in a closed work permit, and my wife was here in Canada on a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). We applied for her open work permit in mid December 2018.
She had to travel back to India later due to personal reasons. Traveled back to India in January 2019. Now we received open work permit approval and the permit.
Current status of spouse:
- Have a valid open work permit (Issued from Canada) valid until June 2020.
- Temporary Resident Visa (the visa stamp on passport) expires on 20-April-2019.
- She is currently NOT in Canada - she is in India (citizen).
- There is a chance that she might / can travel back only after 20-April-2019.
Question:
- Should we apply for a new TRV from India since the existing Visa expires on 20-April-2019?
- If yes, while trying to create an online application, should we select the intentd of travel as Work / Visit?
[ When we select work and current residing place as India, system guides for applying an Open work permit from outside India - I think this is not correct, since she already has an open work permit ]
