Open Work Permit and Sponsorship

Hi everyone,

Hopefully everyone stays safe.
I have a situation here. I submitted my application fro PR under family sponsorship in March. It should be received already but no CIC confirmation yet. I did NNOT apply for OWP at the time since my work permit is still valid. But now it looks like everything is paused and I have to extend my work permit. How can I attach my OWP to my PR application ? I dont know when I can receive the confirmation of receiving PR application from CIC. Please let me know about your thoughts.

How long your OWP expire?
When it close to expired day, you can extend visitor visa then wait to get confirm PR eligible to extend OWP.
You may choose to apply online if you received a letter, (e.g., first stage approval or approval in principle (AIP) of your permanent resident application) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) confirming that you are now eligible to apply for a work permit.

Did you apply inland? If your current work permit is so close to expiring, why didn't you include the OWP app with your PR app?

I made the application inland. There is about 6 months time work permit left.

If you don't work, you'll be in implied status and wait to your PR.

If your work permit is still valid for 6 more months, why do you think you need to apply for an extension now?
