If you see the due date, it is 2016/05/27. But, today is July 15th.
From the GCMS notes, the crux that I got was that the application is stuck in the New Delhi office.
Any idea how/why it would deviate from the due date for so long?

Got my GCMS notes 2 days back.

Hi, Due date doesn't mean anything for us, it is for their internal purpose. bottom line is that so far there is no red flag in your app so far and it has reached NDVO for further checks.. we are all in the same boat. Our applications will be looked at when NDVO gets time... may be 1-2 months from now...

Even I had a due date which was set to before my note generated date. As subic mentioned, that date has no significance for us.

Also, seeing that your AoR is 10th Feb, you must be pretty close to PPR

You are still within the 6 month processing period. I suggest you to apply for GCMS notes - These notes contain the record of which sections are done and which sections are pending. You might be able to understand the status of your application using these notes.

I can only give you a guess on what I think they may check. I guess they check your background in terms of criminality, foreign trips (for PCC requirement), work experience perhaps.

My guess is as good as yours. But the way I see it, the checks are probably the same as those done for employment verification (for a new job).

From my experience, the employment verification (for a new job) is fairly exhaustive and does take 3 months even though the candidate may join later. There have been grounds of dismissal for fabricating information (fake work ex, criminal case, etc.) even after an employee joins. In fact one of my friend's was a partner in a very small online company as a director and was asked to resign prior to joining as this was flagged during background verification.

Hi Praveen,

My application stats are almost similar, kindly update whenever your BG status will change.
As per my info PNP files are taking more time and FSW guys are getting it faster than PNP folks.
Also, if ordering GCMS is of any importance as my 6 months time span is yet to be completed after submition of my application.

Please let me know... My documents are to be processed at the NY VO... there seem to be no movement since submitting schedule A; it's almost a month now and my medical remains under Review.

I have seen 'Medicals Passed' within a few days after AOR for most people in this board.

Question:

Upon my first landing how much amount i have to bring for family of 2? Can
I bring less than CAD 15000?

resident and will be liable to pay the tax?
2. Upon my first landing can I mention, that I will be bringing more CAD
50,000 (in my goods to follow list) so it will be tax free?


My Friend told me, that I can mention in the (goods to follow list upon my
first landing) that I will bring Gold worth of CAD 50,000 so it will be tax
free (I will convert my all cash in the form of Gold when I will return to
Canada)

You need to show funds greater than or equal to $15,143. That is the minimum mandated amount. You can show this in the form of cash, DD, statements proving the availability of funds in the bank. To be on the safer side, just declare the funds you are taking with you to the IO.

Not sure but since you would not have resided in Canada, you might be considered non-resident for tax purposes. Anyone who knows this better can answer.
