Due to Federal level changes to the issuance of temporary work permits, as of June 20th, 2015, OOPNP no longer has the authority to issue open work permit support letters to nominees. To learn about your options for retaining legal status in Canada, see CIC's website for information about Bridging Open Work Permit eligibility requirements.

June 10, 2015

Effective June 25, 2015, Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program will update its application guides and forms. These updated guides and forms reflect previously announced changes to the application process and to required supporting documents, as well as additional changes outlined below. OOPNP has not made changes to program eligibility criteria. Click here to learn more about upcoming changes.

Above written thing is also mentioned on the same page, please guide me ,do we need to wait till 25th june in order to apply ??

There are 2 streams of PNP in Ontario - 2700 via Express Entry and 2500 via regular PNP process. I imagine this notification has no bearing on people applying through the EE stream.

Hi all,

I have given 15K as POF on my EE profile when I created my profile on June for OONP.
I have sent my application already to OONP.
can I update my profile again with $0 to qualify only under CEXC; or will it affect my OONP application?

Ideally, it shouldn't matter because it isn't an eligibility criteria in terms of getting the PT but it is certainly an eligibility criteria for the nomination and you've supplied them with documentation for the same along with your application package.

Plus they do have some access to your EE profile (that's how they invited you in the first place) so I would be wary of making any major changes to the profile before getting the nomination unless absolutely warranted.

Thanks buddy.. :)

In the work experience section, if we are already working in a company do we print and write Present on the date?

Thanks!

Hello everyone
My NOC Code is 2147 (Computer Engineer) which is regulated in Ontario and in the application guide, it is mentioned:

Working in a regulated occupation in Ontario
If you are currently working in an occupation that is regulated in Ontario which requires mandatory certification or licensing in Ontario, you must submit proof of your certification or license

Do I need this proof before applying for OOPNP under Human Human Capital Priorities Stream ? I checked the website for getting a license and one needs to have 4+ years of experience plus has to give some examinations. In that case, there is no way I would be able to get this license in time.

Please help.

Hi team,

Is this perfectly fine to withdraw your previous profile (I had submitted in May) and for Ontario's PT interest, re-create a new profile?

I mean is CIC *not* noticing that people are simply removing their old profiles and updating new in order to get interest for OOPNP?

Won't it have a negative impact in future?

Plz share your thoughts.

Thx much,

CIC allows for updating/withdrawal/re-submission of EE profile so it isn't an invalid action or misrepresentation of any sort. Also, this move was necessitated by a completely arbitrary rule defined by OOPNP that only profiles submitted on or after 1st June will be searchable and eligible and that left potential applicants no choice but to withdraw and re-submit in the hope of securing the elusive PN.

I believe that no one has broken any rules while doing that, they've secured their PTs by doing so and it wouldn't have any impact on their profile in the future.

Who is the bank draft of $1500 payable to? Ontario minister of finance or minister of finance, Ontario ??
Stated 2 different ways in the guide and the actual application

To prove my education should I provide only ECA? Will it be enough? Or my diplomas with translations and transcripts are also needed?

hello everyone,

I submitted my opnp application on 16th. Yesterday i realized i made some mistakes on my application.
1) I wrote one of my year wrong in my work experience detail section. I wrote 2014 instead of 2013. (But my employment letter anf reference letter has the right date).
2) I missed writing the city name in my contact details. I wrote everything but accidentally missed city.
3) I didn't write N/A in spouse canadian work experience and education table.

Please advise how do i notify the authorities and fix this error.
I am in bad shape.

I am in the same boat. We can only hope MCIIT are considerate towards common human errors and apply common sense, or simply ask us for additional information. My regret now is that I did not use a relative's address in Ontario as a mailing address so that they can receive the package if it is returned.
