How are candidates from outside of Canada managing to get International Bank drafts/ International Money orders in CAD currecy? Specifically ppl in US. I called up wells fargo, BOA and chase and all of them have stopped issuing Bank drafts/ MO in foreign currency long back. USPS does this but only for 700$. Can anyone please let me know.

Dilbert, Aasivad, someone already from US, please answer.

Wells Fargo do issue Foreign Drafts and charges $30 as service charge to issue it. Only those branches will be able to issue the foreign drafts which are dealing with Forex services. Based on the currency exchange rate they will convert the USD to CAD plus $30 service charge. For this, you must have a Wells Fargo account, as they won't do it without a bank account.

Aquarian25,
I just called them up and was ready to open an account with them if they have this service. But they said they do not have this service any longer.

Well, not sure if the customer care is really aware of this but here is what I found on their website:

Foreign Bank Draft

Bank drafts payable in foreign currency are a convenient and economical way to make overseas payments. To speak with a Foreign Draft Specialist, call 1-800-678-4653, Option 3, or visit your local branch and speak with a banker.

Also, I myself have got Foreign Draft issued from Wells Fargo 2 days back for OOPNP and I had no issues with it.

Can you please let me know if you are a customer of wells fargo?

It will take some time to reflect your details in their database. You will get a notification once it's in their system. Wait for the notification before trying again. Should come in an hour of profile creation.

I just finished filling up the OOPNP application form and at the end it generates a detailed checklist. If anyone has questions/feedbacks feel free to post a message in the thread.

Hi, Dilbert. I have a question and I'd appreciate it if you answered me. I just got a PT today and strongly considering to apply to OOPNP. The problem is that my occupation is regulated in Ontario, I'm a foreign pharmacist who has never been to Canada, so I do NOT have a license to practice pharmacy in Canada, let alone in Ontario. My question is: do you think lack of licensure will be a reason for rejecting my application? Is there a statement about regulated professions?
Thanks in advance.

I believe you need to have the license and furnish the copy while submitting the application to OOPNP. This is what they have written in the Application guide:

Working in a regulated occupation in Ontario
If you are currently working in an occupation that is regulated in Ontario which requires mandatory certification or licensing in Ontario, you must submit proof of your certification or license.

So there could be a possibility that they ask for the license or refuse the application.

Guys while makingca new express entry profile did uou give your previous express entry profile no ir new one.

Thanks for your reply, Aquarian25. You just helped me save 1500 dollars! LOL!

No problem. Almost every PNP program asks for License, if you are working in a regulated occupation. :'( Thank god they have not made it mandatory with the Federal program. :D So you can wait till you get an ITA from Federal EE draw.

I talked to a rep on the phone and got the following information:

1. Language Tests : Certified copies of the result would work. No need to send original
2. Educational Degrees : If degrees outside Canada, no need to provide certified true copies. Only copy of WES ECA is required.
3. Birth Certificate: Copy in native language + Certified translation ( if it is not in English)
4. Bank Statements: Copy would do as long as it has your full name. No certification required.

Some of these are in conflict with the other information present in the thread. I would advise people to call the OOPNP and get the necessary information.

If this information is wrong, please reply to this thread

Hey guys,

Applying under CEC currently residing in Ontario.

Do you need to get reference from all previous employers or just the one that qualifies you for the 1 year of experience needed under NOC Code A, B or 0?

Thanks!

For CEC applicant's reference letters and additional documentation is a must, failure to provide might result in "incomplete" application. CEC applicant's with foreign work exp, if you can gather the reference letter than great , else you have two options : either not mention it at all, or mention it and give a letter of explanation as to why you are not able to obtain the documentation

Dilbert please share an example of statement letter which claims the intention to reside in Ontario
