Ontario's Driving License.

Hello there,
My query is do we need SIN card to apply for Ontario's driving license? i am an international student from Pakistan. And i have International Driving Permit from Pakistan. I cannot have SIN card here. and i want to get Ontario's driving license.

Is it possible?

Yes, you can get a drivers license without having a SIN card. You do however need a drivers abstract from your home country to prove your driving experience. If you are unable to prove at least a 1 year driving experience, you can only get a G1 license which does not allow you to drive alone. You can in that case only challenge the road test to get a G2 license when the 1 year period is up or you can shorten it to 8 months by completing an approved driving school.

Why can you not get a SIN card though? When you become eligible for an off-campus work permit and want to work, you will need one.

I am studying in a private college, and to GET SIN card, i must study in Participating Instituions for Off campus work permit.
