My surmise: CIC transfers OINP folks to deal with Refugees from Syria.
OINP IS PROVINCIAL, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH REFUGEES.

FEDERAL GOVT (CIC) TAKES CARE OF REFUGEES.

OINP folks dealing with Master/PhD graduates were transferred to doing express entry applications because it's a popular stream and heavily advertised. That's why Master's/PhD certificates are taking 8-9 months instead of 90 days.

Hi Fellas,

This question is for my sibling, I am planning for her masters study in Canada, I did some research on Master's stream and what I've understood from it is:

1)Complete a Master's degree.
2)After completing degree apply for OINP (without any wait period and job offer letter).
3)It has nothing to do with if you've got the job or not.

If I'm wrong on these conclusions please let me know about it.

Thanks

How long after the AOR are they taking to send the letter these days?

(I'm talking about Master's students here, of course)

Also, does anyone know if the PR Processing by CIC really takes around 15 months? Or if in practice it goes faster or slower than that.

Thanks!

Probably slower. 15 months is like the best case.

With regards to Provincial Nomination ...

Can anyone confirm what is the rule on staying in the province you have got nominated to? Is there a mandatory stay in that province for a specific amount of years to be eligible for citizenship or can one stay anywhere? and if so after how much time of stay in that province?

Pretty sure citizenship only requires you to stay in Canada.

Does anyone know if we could stay outside of Canada after getting nominated by OINP (master stream)?

I have never read anything about travel restrictions. As long as you don't move your residence to outside of Ontario you should be fine.

So, they received my papers on Jan 11th, just got my AOR Today (May 16th)

How much longer have they been taking to send the final letter these days?
