Yesterday my status on check application status changed to decision made. Sent the documents requested today (photos copy of passport and annex a). My timeline was really short! But I sent everything all at once (except right to permant residence fee) so there wouldn't be any delays.

Time line was-

Aug 10 2016 we received your application

Sept 15 2016 we started processing your application

Medical results received (October sometime)

December 19 2016 asked for right to permanant residence fee

January 20 2017 sent correspondence saying i was approved and to send in passport copy and photos.

Hoping it comes soon.

Had you sent in photos with the application originally? You did say in the original post you sent everything, but I'm just making sure. There was discussion going on in the August thread about who was being asked for new photos, and whether there had been any U.S. citizens asked for them.

Yes I did send photos with the original app along with a copy of my passport but they asked for it again for some reason.

Was this an inland or Outland application? If inland did.you apply for an open work permit?

if the person went through the ottawa office, then that means it was an outland application. US outland applicants are commonly approved in 4-6 months. this is not out of the norm for ottawa.

it's not that the website was lying. it's that the information on the website did not represent an average for us outland applicants being processed today (which is what is assumed you're seeing when you read those stats). the stats listed online represented 80% of ALL spousal applications processed in Ottawa. The stat of 14 months suggested that 80% of all applications sent to ottawa (not just for US applicants) are processed within 14 months - not that it took 14 months to process all applications. Ottawa processes applications for applicants from many countries, not just the US. being approved in 5 mo. is right on par with current US "outside canada" processing. congrats!

Quick question can anyone tell me about how long to get the COPR letters in the mail after sending the prepaid envelope?
