Hi Everyone,

My spouse is sponsoring me, but I paid for the online receipt for $1040. I read that you are supposed to fill in the information that's blank on the online receipt.

Since the receipt was in my name, which I understand is normal, I filled in my information on the form for DOB and Client Number. The reason I did this is because it asked for the payee information. I did some searching around and found out that the Client Number field is supposed to be left blank as it is intended for the sponsor, but that it also doesn't matter who pays the fee, just that it's paid.

We live at the same address which was written on the receipt (In Canada, outland application); but will it be a problem that I used my UCI as opposed to leaving it blank? My instinct tells me they'll either ignore it, that it's no big deal, or they'll fix it on their own, but I want to know if I need to do anything.

My application was delivered to CPC Mississauga this morning, thanks.

Infill we with my grandfather's name since I've made the payment with his credit card.
This infos are for a possible refund as far as I concerned.

No, it will not be a problem. The form is the same for all types of applications. Usually there is one principal applicant (the rest are dependents). For family class applications, there are two principal applicants (sponsor for step 1, non-Canadian for step 2) so either 'client UCI' works. CIC can keep track of the fees because the applications are linked (this is also why you can pay the fees for both steps simultaneously).

Thanks for your feedback guys, took a load of stress off 8)
