And I agree. It was perhaps a quick win as security checks would have been valid and there was enough cushion to complete process for post Sept 2019 applicants before expiry of those checks.
What security checks and how long do they last?

I read someone else hypothesizing that it was about cic staff trying to manipulate their KPI of 1 year processing time by isolating pre-Aug 2019 applicants into an "outliers" position.

Hi any reference quiz for online test? Thanks in advance.

Quick question: me and my child (under 6 years old) applied together for citizenship.

Today, I received my citizenship online test. That mean, after I got citizenship, my child who is under 6 years old will get citizenship automatically? We applied together in the same envelope. Thanks and let me know.
i hope this helps. All the very best.

It is all in the air. No one knows what the reality. What we know is what we have heard from different people on this group.

The theory you have mentioned may very much have some substance to it.

You can use other valid ID for finger print request (how about using PR card). You are almost getting ready to get test invite once you submit second Fingerprint request. 《《《 This is the trend I have seen recently from posts on other threads. Good luck.

Ps: request 2 copies of finger print, one sent to IRCC and other to yourself. Once you get your copy of finger print request, scan it and email to IRCC using web form and ask them to confirm once finger print is received. In the same web form, then refer to your copy of finger print which you would attach for a ready reference.《《 that's what I did, and IRCC confirmed the receipt of finger print in about weeks time of the receipt from RCMP.
Can anyone please confirm if receiving a 2nd fingerprints request means they are going to re-do all background/security checks again even though they were completed the first time just because fingerprints have expired?

Honestly I have a same question. Hopefully someone can shed more light on it.

To answer your question; receiving a second request to resubmit your fingerprints doesn't mean all the background checks will be conducted again. There have been several people who've had to submit a second set of fingerprints right before, or after receiving a test invite, and it's highly unlikely that the background checks would have to be done all over again in the period of time between a test and oath ceremony.

That's comforting to know, thanks. I would assume so, too. Doesn't make sense to me to re-do everything from scratch because it's going to yield the same result anyway. I think they just want to keep fingerprints valid throughout the entire process. Though like @Lex2019 said, fingerprints expiring should not be the applicant's problem. I also don't think it's FAIR to ask some applicants for 2nd set of fingerprints while some others don't even get asked for this at all!

You're welcome. I respect the opinion of everybody on this forum, but the concept of fairness doesn't apply to our situation because of the Pandemic. I've actually spoken to people in this Forum who live in Vancouve, like me, and have exactly the same timelines as I do, who've already had their oath ceremony.

Our only solution is to be strong and to do our best to remain positive.

Was it mainly verifying the original documents and language ability just like the in-person one or was it any different? Also any updates on your timeline after the interview, if any? Thanks much!

Earlier they were giving 2 chances for test and if not they would do interview for checking knowledge on Canada. So now with everything online, possibly they are going to check her knowledge through interview just after first time fail itself. its good that they scheduling the interview quickly after first test. She will get through the process quickly rather than waiting for another test. it should be fine. Ask her to prepare for the verbal exam just in case if they ask.

Other interview questions are just based on your application and documents verification in your file. So have your originals if in case they ask to show/confirm some detail. Not a big deal on interview except that test part.

Good luck.
