According to this news article below, the immigration minister announced the launch of an online portal on 1st January, 2021 for applicants between the ages of 50 and 54. My best guess is this is going to be a pilot testing ground before full deployment. Fingers crossed.

This is great to begin. With lot of digitilization they are still processing paper form and returning application back to us. In most of visa and WP form can be easily filled and bar codes are generated. Which will help to speed the data entry and less errors to return. Hope this will help lot of future candidates

Hi guys.according to IRCC website the online citizenship application for adults is already open for anyone between 18 and 54,can someone shed some light if this is true?
Thanks

Good news. It's about time and will save many from a returned package for this or that missing tick in a paper application...

Yeah but its only for single applicants for now.
Maybe they will also waive the application fee as well.

LOL. They are increasing application fees and you are thinking of waiving it.

Remember citizenship application fee for each adult in the UK is 2330 CAD plus test fees.

Even for kids it cost around 2000 CAD which is just 150 CAD in Canada.

I am more interested in paying fee if they can adjudicate my application within 6 months ;)

same here ... I don't mind paying extra if they can introduce express processing of application with express fee.

Ugh! I had that in 2015, when they introduced Express Entry and all the paper based application were pushed to the back burner.
Definitely a step in right direction, but there will be a major backlog.

Hi All / @blingyrie - Could you please share the link where it says the online citizenship application is open for single applicants between 18 to 54? I am unable to find it.

I submitted my citizenship application a few weeks ago with the help of a representative, I wonder if it would be possible to withdraw it and submit a new application online once the system is up and running.

well..the liberals campaigned in 2019 to eliminate the citizenship processing fee but not sure if they will follow through because of the financial strain caused by the pandemic.

eliminating or keeping the processing fee will not impact the processing times,it is the inventory and resources that affect that.most people are willing to pay even more for a speedy process.
