Hi All

I have couple of questions while filing the online form:

1)
Do you currently, or have you ever held immigration or citizenship status in a country or territory other than Canada (this includes your country of birth)?

Below are my entries. Now where do we upload the visa copy as a proof for all these entries? Or should i just upload all the pages of my passports in the UPLOAD MORE DOCUMENTS - OTHER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS section?

2)
Have you ever held travel documents or passports during your 5-year eligibility period?

Should i upload only the first and last page of my passports which has my bio information?
OR
Should i upload all the pages of the passport including the stamped pages and empty pages?

Is a visa considered as a travel document? If so, should i enter all the visa number, country and place of issue and also attach the scanned proof?

Thanks

1) Visiting a country or going as a student or worker does not mean immigration or citizenship status, so you don't need these entries. You should only write of countries where you were either a Permanent Resident or Citizen.

2) Not sure about this one

I read in this forum, which had a link to the response from IRCC twitter where they said that we need to mention every entry even if it was for visitor or a student.

yes, entry into every country makes sense when they want your travel history.

But that doesn't mean that you have held citizenship/immigration status. These are 2 different things.

Question 13.
Tell us if you have had immigration, permanent resident status and/or citizenship in any other country outside of Canada (e.g. your country of birth)

  • Check either yes or no.
  • If you check yes, complete the chart.
  • Tell us which countries you have held status in, and exactly what status you held or currently hold (student, employment/worker, refugee/protected person, permanent resident or citizen).
  • Date you obtained each status(YYYY-MM-DD)
  • End date if no longer valid, if applicable (YYYY-MM-DD). Leave blank if you currently hold this status

I will have to look at this more clearly then.

Student visa should not be considered immigration status. I could be wrong.

Essentially they want all status in other countries. We need to list all type of status, whether its immigrant status or non-immigrant status in other country.

Correct.
So where do we attach the proof for all this? or is it ok to just list them alone without attaching any proof?

Also, Any help with the second question please?

You will have to provide the documents as per checklist. this is what i know about paper application.
You wont be providing proof for all data you enter for each question.
Travel Documents are passports and region specific such as nexus and country specific such as India's PIO etc.

So i do not have to add an entry just for my german visa in this section right?
Also, do i add only the bio pages of my passport or all the pages in my passport?

If you have travelled and used the visa then you have to enter as per the link you gave.
All pages of passport.
Just go with the instructions.

For the purposes of Q13, like I've mentioned time and time again, INCLUDE EVERYTHING - Visitor, Student, Worker, PR, Missionary, Business Visa and anything else.
What about Q14 - only the passport or do we include the visas which we had in the previous 5 years?

Thanks

Q14 asks for Travel Documents and/or Passports. Unless you are a refugee (and you have a refugee travel document), you only need to submit details of ALL passports that were valid in the 5 year period.
