Although I'm not from Engalnd, there is a lot of British influence back home in Sri Lanka!

When I was new to Canada, I have had people looked at me in a funny way when I've asked for Sellotape...Tip-ex....
and I still can't understand why Colour is spelt as Color or Cheque as Check....!!!! It is soooo wrong!!!! ???

So ture...can u even compare 'Qualitry Street' u get here to the ones from the U.K!!!! I'm also a fan of Australian Chocolates...
I think it's the difference in the milk!

And...Marmite!!!! yummmm!!!! @ pinklady...try on toast with some butter!!!

It's a disgusting, black, tarry-like substance that my mother thinks is heaven's gift to toast! LOL She's obviously a Brit!

Haha, I ask for sellotape and tipex aswell... "whaaaaaat?" is the response.
Bin bags also gets the same response, aswell as jumper and lift instead of elevator, and washing up liquid, dish soap here I believe?
But I love those little differences we have.

And no thanks to the marmite on toast yak yak yak!

The chocolate part is very intersting, and I've had this chocolate called "Galaxy" my cuzn brought some ... mmm yummmmy... now I want some...

Galaxy chocolate is delish! When i eat Galaxy I think I prefer Galaxy, and when I eat Cadburys I think I prefer Cadburys, its so hard to choose!

I worked in an office in Canada for a year on a Working Holiday Visa (I'm now back in Australia waiting for my spousal sponsorship to be approved) - I found Canada and Australia VERY similar - but I still managed to put my foot in my mouth fairly often - I think the funniest one was when I asked a colleague if he had watered the pot plants on my desk - apparently it's a "house plant" and a "pot plant" is something very different!!!

me to put my foot in it here, I asked for a fag from my hubby and the looks I got was so funny, and asking the people ar work if they have any plasters instead of band aids was amusing .


Love quaity streets but here there not the same , chocolate here is no comparison to UK ..also the chocolate in France is very strong, way too much cocoa ..nyone would think im a choc holic

lol..I can certainly relate to that...I had a paper cut at work and I was asking if someone had a plaster ...and everyone was looking at me like...errrrrrrrrrr...what!!!! and I had to show my finger to get what I wanted!!! Band-Aid!!!!
