She: Canadian (Sponsor)
He: British (being sponsored)
Applied from London, UK (where we currently live, married for 4+ years).

Once we get confirmation of his PR, is there a time frame before we have to move?
What if he wants to stay in his job another 1-2 years (in London, UK), would that be possible, and move when we are totally ready?

No. There will be a date on the paperwork saying when you have to land by.

If you both want to stay in the UK for another 2 years just wait longer to send off your application

Agree, you shouldn't apply until you are ready to actually move. The reason for this, is CIC is pretty strict on requiring those who are out of the country to supply proof they intend to relocate and settle Canada upon receipt of the PR (things like jobs or job searches, living arrangements, etc).

However, there's nothing stopping someone from leaving Canada after they land, and if you are living together in the UK it will still count towards his PR commitment.

Generally the COPR expires at the same time as the medical. So if he gets his medical, applies right away, and it takes 8 months to get his PR, he'd have 4 months to land.

Thanks understood.
Interesting re: the bold part - I guess that is what we were implying with the opening post. Seems it is indeed do-able.
Thanks again!

Be aware that if CIC is not satisfied with the sponsor's proof of intent to return to Canada, they will refuse the app. Also, if CBSA suspects that you have no intention of settling in Canada as soon as you become a PR, they can refuse to land you.
