Hi All,

My friend wants to apply for a Visitor Visa to Canada:
  • She is married to a Canadian citizen
  • Their son is obviously a Canadian citizen
  • They all reside abroad and have not visited Canada in years
They want to visit Canada together this Summer to see her husband's family (Canadian citizens who reside in Canada) and obviously do some local sightseeing.

Within the CIC application portal under the Question for "Why do you need a (Visitor) Visa?" she has two valid options:
  • Visit family (in her case it would be her in laws)
  • Visit Canada as a tourist
Both are valid and accurate options and she has documentation for both. She is also explaining the reason for her visit in details in the comment box. So does it matter which option she actually chooses in terms of processing times and/or approval (they are both fully vaccinated and their son is a toddler if it matters)?

Thanks!
