Hello guys, please I need help..I am a student in Canada..I extended my study permit earlier this year and decided to also renew my visitors visa to enable me go in and out of Canada.
I realized recently after some months that I applied for visitors record instead of visitors visa..I have called CIC and they have noted the mistake on my file.

But my issue Is this...I intend travelling to the US this week and I am worried about reentry.

I don't know if the visitors record is going to have any effect on my study permit which is still valid..my trv is expired

Kindly advise urgently..anyone been in this kind ofsituation?

1/ if you have a valid study permit, and are only visiting the US or St. Pierre et Miquelon, you don't require a TRV to re-enter Canada.

Did you see the issue with the visitors record? Will it affect me since it hasn't been cancelled yet?

Yes, you applied to change your status to visitor. You need to withdraw that app.

Thank you soo much..please what's the process and does it take time..can I leave Canada to USA pending the withdrawal is approved? What's the implication..sorry I'm asking too many questions but I don't want to have problems reentering.

Oh really..but school said the visitor record has made the study permit invalid even if it expires next year..

Clarify, has the visitor record actually been issued or is it still in process?

It has been issued for some months now but I didnt realize it was different from trv until now.

Well, that changes things. You are a visitor in Canada. I hope you haven't been studying, as that would be illegal. If you are studying, you need to stop ASAP. You need to apply for a new study permit. Unless you meet any of the exceptions, you can't apply to change your status to student. You would need to use the outside Canada app.
