Hi everyone! I am one of the unfortunate OPNP applicants who got into the limbo like many others. I applied under masters student without job category althought at the time of my application i had a job (a co-op and then a contract). I have a quick question about the document request by CIC. Do they ask all the applicants to send supporting documents (such as job/reference ect)? I did not send much additional document to CIC except those that were required. I am just wondering if I be prepared for additional document request? Merci!

Hi guys,

I have a question and I would appreciate your help. I applied for PR under PNP for masters students without job offer. I changed my job and I am not sure if need to let CIC know about this change because my application does not required job offer. I appreciate your suggestions

I think you should if you already had your AOR.

Are people nominated under no-job offer category getting calls/emails only or all categories? Please confirm? Thank you.

Although there may have been several sub categories and stream (appear more like marketing schemes) such as pilot; reduction; masters, PhD, with or without job offer, etc, I feel overall the queue is determined by :

Federal skilled workers
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Quebec‑selected skilled workers
Canadian Experience Class
Start-up visa
Self-employed Persons Program
Family sponsorship
Provincial nominees
Live-in caregivers
Refugees
* investor class (I understand was scrapped)

Older the scheme, less the attention from CiC and higher the chances of scrapping.

Friends, I got my GCMS notes today - But its a very long document - Where should I have a look to get to know whats happening ?

Just got this email

I am a Quality Assurance officer with the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program. We have been asked by the federal government (the CIC) to follow up on immigration cases which the province had previously nominated for permanent residence in Canada. Immigration processing by the CIC of those selected cases has been halted until we report back on the items listed below. In order to complete our report, I request your answers to the following questions –
1) Where are you currently residing?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) What is your current employment?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Please confirm what institution you studied at?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) What was your field of studies, i.e., specialization, if any?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) Do you intend to live in Ontario?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) Please confirm your residential phone number and personal email address.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your rapid response will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, in the event we do not succeed in getting in touch with you, our instructions are to report that we have been unable to find you in Ontario, which triggers a process which can conclude with the cancellation of your provincial nomination.
If your case reaches that stage, it is possible that the CIC would conclude the processing of your immigration case was based on false information, which could result in your permanent residence application being denied.
