To my knowledge background check can take 1-3 months

eCas isn't the most updated thing. Have you order your notes? Or you can try to link your account to MYCIC.

There's a thread on this forum somewhere where a lot of people give troubleshoot advice for linking their application. One person advised putting 2 instead of 1 where it asks how many people are in the application, only entering the passport and last name, little things like that. If none of those work you can send a request to the CIC website and they can help figure out what's wrong.

I don't know if it has changed but I got DM on sponsor side only when my wife got DM on PA side

Hello Eagle, my application to sponsor my husband was received May 30th, started processing June 16, approved as sponsor and file sent to Singapore VO August 1. On MyCIC is shows eligibility Review in process, medical passed, review of supporting documents blank, background check not yet started, interview not yet needed. I contacted Singapore regarding an update about two weeks ago and they said file was pending initial review. Then I contacted my MP last week and they said it's in queue. How will I know when an officer starts working on my case? Will background check change to in progress? Or will there be any other changes?

Thanks very much!!

If you got SA that's enough don't worry about when you will see DM on Sponsor side. Your altitude is based on your attitude. The right mental attitude makes things go faster and positive. The wrong mental attitude toward your file will prolong it even more. This is from Eagle333 and I love. All the best.

Hello,

Our records show that you may be a permanent resident (PR) of Canada. This email is a reminder that you must present your valid Permanent Resident Card (PR Card) or permanent resident travel document (PRTD) when boarding a flight to Canada.

Canadian permanent residents who do not present a valid PR card or PRTD may be denied boarding their flight to Canada for not having the appropriate travel documents.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your PR card is still valid when you return from travel outside of Canada. The expiry date is printed on the card. If your PR card is expired or will expire within six months, you should apply now to renew your card.

If you are in Canada and do not currently have a permanent resident card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident card.
If you are outside of Canada and do not have a PR card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD).
Plan ahead and check the processing times to receive a valid PR card or PRTD before your next international trip.

Please note that if you believe you no longer meet Canada’s permanent residency requirements, your permanent resident status must be resolved before you can apply for a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). For example, if you choose to give up (renounce) your permanent resident status, you can then apply for an eTA or a visa. Learn more about your residency requirements and your options as a permanent resident of Canada.

We encourage you to share this information with your family and friends as we want to avoid Canadian permanent residents experiencing travel delays because they don’t have the appropriate travel document to board a flight to Canada.

Thank you,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Its just a new policy they are implementing same with people with dual citizenship , if you use your native passport to go home you still have to bring your canadian passport to board canada bound transport or else they wont let you board
