Not all visa offices send "the letter". I think it's only London. It seems that they have decided that because it's taking a long time, some peoples situations have changed and they are no longer interested and want to cancel and get the fees back at the time London is contacting them for documents so now instead, they get a warning letter, warning, we are about to start processing, this is your time to get a refund. I don't think they send out the letter unless they are actually close to starting processing so if you get the letter, you might as well let your old application roll and forget about the new one. The old applications through London are taking about 3 years on average and since the newest of the old applications are about a year and a half old now, they only have about a year and a half left so for anybody who has a year and a half left of waiting and wants to apply again under the new rules which will probably take around the same time or maybe be around 6 months faster, in my opinion it's a waste of time and effort. On the other hand, for somebody who is from India where the old applications were taking more like 6 years, it might be worth it applying again under the new rules.

Hi Leon,

I wished that was the case here in london, as you mentioned above - that they are about to start processing one's application. Unfortunately, I received the letter just 4 Months after I had applied and it's been over a year now, and I have not heard anything from them since then.

Anyway, like I have said in many of my posts. I am going to leave it the way it is. I'll wait and see what God and luck has in stock for me.

It seems very strange to send the letter so soon. Obviously they are not processing anything yet. If you really are thinking about withdrawing, you could contact them and ask them if you can still get your fees back. Never hurts to ask. If they ask you if you got a letter from them, just say no :)

Leon,
Good one. LOL. You won't believe it but the bitter truth is, when I received the letter, I was over the moon and thought, WOW, they are about opening my file and that too in just 4 Months. I actually used my Consultancy/Company letter head to reply to it within 2 days.
(LOL - I can't even say that. I have shot myself on the foot- ha haha ha!!!)

Well, maybe it wasn't really you who replied. Maybe it was your evil twin Nobby :)

LOL. Yeah maybe. I am sure those IO Guys are far too brainy than that. They may even reject my case because of "False Claims and Lies" especially when they have it "Black on White".

Guys,

My visa office is not London so it seems other visa offices also send out this letter and as I said my old file was submitted 2007 and in the letter they have sent me they have mentioned now they are processing 2004 clients so I am not actually close to the time they will process my old file, I think my old file processing time will be probably 2012.
I have decided no reply to this letter I think it is better than to reply and say NO, because at later stage (if my new file got approved) I can request my old file application fee refund. Never hurts to ask
