Hi everyone,

I recently received an invitation under the OINP PhD Graduate stream, but I’m concerned about the Proof of Funds (POF) requirement.

Currently, I don’t meet the minimum settlement fund requirement on my own. My family is willing to provide the necessary amount via a gift deed, but my counselor advised me that the money must have been in my account for at least 6 months and not just a week before the application. They suggested I decline the invitation and wait for a future opportunity.

Does OINP strictly require a 6-month history for the PhD stream, or is a documented gift deed acceptable for the settlement fund requirement? I’d hate to pass on this invitation if there is a legitimate way to move forward.

Thanks in advance for your help!

See what they accept but it says. Nothing about gift deeds but call OINP and ask.

Scan and upload copies of your most recent bank statements showing the last three months of activity.
