OINP Invite: Asivad and Others Please Help

Hi,

I recently got Invite from Ontario. My CRS is 407 at present. My IELTS score are L-8,R-7,S-7,W-6.5 and claiming points under NOC 1313 as primary NOC. In total claiming 3+ years of experience under NOC 1312 and 1313. I do not have any job offer at moment. As per my understanding I will fall under human capital stream of OINP. But I checked eligibility criteria for human capital stream for OINP and it asks for atleast 1 year of work experience under NOC O A or B in the last 5 years. In my case I have experience in NOC 1312 and 1313 starting May 2007 until Aug 2010. This means my experience which I am claiming is not falling in last 5 years criteria.

I dont undeestand why I got interest in that case. Can you please help.

If you have acquired 1 year of experience under ANY other NOC 0/A/B within the last 5 years, that would make you eligible for this. It need not be in your Primary NOC.

Thanks Asivad. Provided I accept the invitation, would I still be eligible for an FSW ITA under EE or accepting interest from Ontario would make me ineligible for normal FSW process.

But my IELTS exam is on 10th October and I have 45 days to accept OINP interest from the date of interest received i.e. 3rd September 2015. This means I have time till 18th october whereas my IELTS result will be declared on 25th October. I know if i dont manage to score required IELTS score then I would miss Potential OINP 600 points and in that case CRS of 407 might not get me an ITA under normal FSW process. Its a big dilema for me. Please advise. Is it worthwhile to wait for an ITA at 407.

You won't be ineligible for 'regular' ITA till you receive and accept the PN.

It is a 1500 CAD gamble. If you score CLB 9 or above, you might not need this PN. Otherwise, you do. At 407, you are unlikely to get an ITA in the foreseeable future.

Recommend that you definitely accept this invitation and apply to OINP. And give your best shot at IELTS as well. The actual decision will be required to be taken on 25th October after your IELTS results arrive. Till then, treat your score as 407 and grab this chance to secure 600 invaluable points.

you are lucky guy u got Pt at 407. I am waiting at 438 and still if i get it I will not leave the chance. Please go ahead with Ontario. don't take any chance waiting for IELTS . My IELTS is already clb10 so only potion is french. So i am taking french exams now so that i reach above 450. mever stop increasing ur pints. But dont miss the opportunity u get.

I am basically claiming 3+ years of experience in NOC 1312 and 1313 and this experience was gained more than 5 years ago from the date I received interest from Ontario for OINP. Asivad suggested me to look for another NOC in which I can claim experience and that need not be my primary NOC in my EE profile and provided experience was gained within recent 5 years. Now, I have two questions.

1. If I chose any other NOC and show atleast 1 year of experience in recent 5 years then in that case wouldnt it cause any problem. This is because this NOC which i will chose would not be mentioned in my EE profile neither as my primary NOC nor as secondary NOC.
2. Secondly, it might be a case (only my assumption) that Ontario needs skilled workers for NOC 1312 and 1313 in particular and that is why they sent me an interest. Just wanted to check if my profile will not be weakened by showing experience in any other NOC. This is because I am not satisfying recent 5 years experience criteria for NOC 1312 and 1313.

Please advice me on above points. Asivad your inputs would really be helpful and ofcourse others as well.

Cannot answer this without knowing what you have provided in your Work history for the last 5 years? Have you shown that period as 'Unemployed' or 'Education'? If that period shows up as 'Employment', what is the associated NOC?

Interesting! Then you have been invited incorrectly (flouting that 5 year rule). Recommend that you send them a mail to clarify this point before considering sending in your application.

Hi Asivad.. Just got an email from Ontario.. Nothing much conclusive.. They said that it is possible for system to send PT to ineligible candidates from EE pool.. It is applicants responsibility to ensure that they meet eligibility criteria.

As I mentioned earlier, i have not mentioned any work experience in the last 5 years in my EE profile. Few questions in my mind.

1. I can show at least one year of experience along with an associated NOC in the last 5 years. Problem is that I have not mentioned this NOC in my EE profile. Should I modify work experience details in my EE profile by mentioning this new job profile along with associated NOC in my EE profile. Or is it Ok to not modify EE profile and only show this to Ontario when they ask for the documents.
2. In case I modify work experience in my EE profile and assuming I score CLB 9 in IELTS and then my CRS shoots up to 459. Lets assume by this time I have not received a nomination. With a score of 459, assume I get an ITA then in that case do I need to show Job reference letters for all work experience mentioned in my EE profile or can I not show LOR for this new job profile. Because remember CRS remains same for experience above 3 years.

Please share your inputs.
