Hi, I'm asking this for a friend who is in a delicate situation. My friend graduated a few years ago from college, he is under a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) for three years, now he's in his last year.
He's currently working in Toronto for a company that doesn't meet the requirements to sponsor him under OINP. However, thanks to a relative he has now a permanent full-time job offer in another city where they can sponsor him. The problem is that due to personal issues it would be compromising to him to leave Toronto right now, but if he waits his work permit is going to expire.
Can the company sponsor him with the job offer but without him working there (yet)? Or he has necessarily to move and start working in order to apply for OINP? He would apply under "International Student with a Job offer" stream. He doesn't have enough points for express entry so for now that's not an option.
Is it possible to do that? I'm sorry if I can't provide too many details. I hope I can update later.
