OHIP online renewal possible while on BOWP and SOWP?

Hi everyone!

Our current OHIP cards expire in few days. We need to renew them.

When we obtained our first cards, both my wife and I were on IEC OWPs. So I needed to prove that I will be employed for the next 6 months at least, and since those were our first health cards in Canada, we couldn't do anything online and had to go to a Service Canada location.

Now we are renewing, but are still on open work permits (BOWP and SOWP) while awaiting the resolution of our PR application.
Does anyone know if, because of that, we may not be able to renew online?

You won't be able to renew online. You will need to prove that you have new WPs and that you are employed in full-time jobs for at least 6 months.
