OHIP for spouse of work permit holder

Hi

My husband has OHIP and it will be active from April 2010. I dont have OHIP as my extension of visa is under process.Once Visa comes I will apply for OHIP.Further, I am planning to apply for open work permit as well. I have few questions :

If I get open work permit , still I will be enjoying benefits of OHIP ?
What all is covered for pregnancy like from 1st month till birth of child?
If I am pregnant before my OHIP cover is started (during waiting period),will the maternity expenses covered?

we are planning for baby so answer of above questions will really help us.

There are no pre-existing conditions with OHIP so until you are covered, you pay out of pocket and once you are covered, OHIP will pay for you.

Can you guide me about supplemental insurance. You have mentioned about the same in previous replies.
You have already given idea about cost of approx 120 CAD per month. (40 + 80).
What are the benefits ? Is it covering your family or only you ? From where we get good supplemental ins. ?

I am in the same situation now. My wife is pregnant and we do not have OHIP yet and our work permits are in process. How did you manage or any insurance helped?
