Dear Members,
I will appreciate this help as always..

Me and my wife are Canadian PR's living in Ontario since April 2010. We have our OHIP cards since that time. We have a baby girl born in US, since we immigrated from there and she was born after we became PR's. So we are in the process of applying her PR. My question is..

1. Is she also covered in OHIP alongwith us since she is our dependant.

2. What paperwork do i need to file in the OHIP office for her. I am working since April in Ontario and i have my immigration records. Thanks

I think you have to ask OHIP. If she had been born in Ontario, she would be eligible for OHIP right away but having been born in the US, she may be treated like a foreigner moving to Ontario. You will have to ask them if she gets coverage under your coverage. You can find some contact info here: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/default.aspx

In my case, my husband/kids father is a birth citizen, and our kids will have a 3 month wait (as well as he himself and me the PR) when we move. Returning citizens, new PRs have the 3 month wait.

1. No. She'll have the usual wait pd of 90 days, post landing.
2. The same form & supporting docs as yours.
