We applied visitor visa extension for our daughter and got the extension till 2015/12/11 under the category temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6). She is in Ontario from April 2013 and her PR application is in process (status: application recieved from May 18th 2013). Our Question is Can we apply for her OHIP card now? as she here for more than 180 days and she have her visa until 2015.....Please suggest.....

If you are Ontario resident, unfortunately your daughter cannot receive health card before she gets PR. Some other provinces, such as Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, in contrast, offer health card for spouse and dependents under 18 years of age of their residents even when their status are temporary. I'm a foreign wife of a Saskatchewan resident and be waiting for my Pr for the last 2 years. I just got a TRV and be in Canada from June 2013. I was already granted health card althought I am not a PR yet. This is province' s policy not federal's policy.
Please check with other sources or call your province's ministry of health they will give you the right answer.
