official transcript or notarized copies in university sealed envelope?

This thing with the orginal transcripts gives me the creeps. In my home country, nobody issues another original transcript for immigration, or another institution etc., only in case you lose it they will issue another one( a duplicate better said). Therefore I asked someone from my home country to make me notarized copies after the original, went with them to the university, and the university put the notarized copy inside, wrote the address, and stamped it. It is going to be OK? I mean, every country has its own rules; My family and I are in the US as international students, and I know that here, it is very easy to go to the college, to pay for an official transcript, but in my home country is different...To be honest I am not going to send my official transcripts from university, master, etc. to the visa office, I don't know but I am afraid because these are the only documents that I have, and I don'/t want to lose them, that is why I chose to send notarized copies in the university sealed envelope. Do you think they will understand that? :-[

Which is your visa office? A lot depends on it.

Also depends on your home country (you have not mentioned it but that's okay). Most of the times the visa officers are aware that it is not possible to get transcripts from a particular country and I hope they waive that requirement.

Having said that, if your educational records are clean and you did not compormise any ethical standards to put together transcripts it should be acceptable. But again, this is my common sense and doesn't mean that visa officer will think the same.

My visa office is Buffalo, and my home country is Romania; the thing is that all the people from my country who applied for Canada never sent the originals, only notarized copies in university sealed envelopes. I mean I have the originals, here in US, not to mention the fact that the copies were notarized with the original transcript in front, and are stamped by the notary cabinet. Even the Bucharest Visa Office(from my country) asks for original transcripts but everybody sent only notarized copies.

I sent Notarized copies (all originals were in english). That worked fine.

The thing is that my official transcript is of course in my native language, therefore the notarized copy in the sealed envelope(from the university) is in my native language, too, correct?I mean nobody from the university in my country will issue an officila transcript in English. But, besides that envelope I will send notarized translated copies. Do you think it's going to be OK?

Definitely not if they are not in english. You should go to a certified translator and then get the translated copies notarized by the university or at least a public notary. That should work.
