Curious, what more or comprehensive background check does it go through, especially for someone who is from a 3rd country and a immigrant to Canada. I understand that there is lot of info sharing between Canada and US, especially after 911, and Canada wont give citizenship to anyone who has a US record or bad record ( in other words, they would check everything ) - so one went through the Canadian citizenship process and has traveled to US while in Canada on PR ( even got US Visa inside Canada ) and 7 times after getting Citizenship, twice with 2nd inspection, would be safe to assume they would get nexus without any issue coz they must have done those checks when they applied for Canadian citizenship and never had issues entering US. In addition their FBI fingerprint record showed no records as well.

** Just a matter of armchair discussion, had with a friend, no one as any record but a matter of Nexus process **

I am a NEXUS member and the background check is quite comprehensive. Things that may not disqualify you from PR or citizenship can disqualify you from NEXUS. For example, you have to detail all the countries you have visited in the past 5 years and some countries the US may have issues with. This could be a problem even if Canada does not have any issue and you visited the US may times in the past.

But if you have never had any legal issues or any issues with customs and immigration, it is likely ok.
