Off Campus Work Permit, MORE THAN 20 HOURS AWEEK PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine worked while he was a student under the off campus work permit, he was working for about 30 hours a week, the issue is the permit only allows for 20 hours a week, he is going to submit he is cec application and he is worried, he also got EI when he was working, he is so worried, should he be worried is CIC gonna look how many hours he was making in 2010, is he intouble?? please help.

Unlikely to be an issue. No work while a student will be considered, nor will experience that is older than 3 years. So he does not need to provide a letter.

Bad news: Why would he claim EI when was still working? It is considered fraud claiming EI and getting paid in Cash.

Good news: he just have to mention work experience in History. It will not be taken into consideration. Everything he is worried about is related to CRA not with CIC. So you are good to go.

I think he claimed EI after he got laid off, he is asking about the max 20 hours that imm allows for off campus work permit holders.
