Hi ladies and gents,

I just finished my oath ceremony, it was a lovely event with 62 people in attendance. (Vancouver). Instead of an e-certificate, they provided us with a hard copy, which is totally fine (trying not to be picky!).
Wishing you all the best, and to those still waiting for the process to be completed: just remember, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
All the best to everyone!

Congrats.

Make a good scan of the hard copy certificate - because it has bar codes and all that, it basically also works as an e-certificate (at least for service canada/passport office, which is the main place you'd need it anyway). That way you can store the hard copy and keep it in good condition.

Hello All,

AOR Received: Oct 31 2024
Background Complete: Nov 1 2024
Citizenship Test Complete: Nov 15 2024
Language Test Complete: Dec 19 2024
Physical Presence and Prohibitions: In Progress
Interview Completed: May 22 2025

This is in Scarborough office. Interview was called because I had an error with the dates that she wanted to verify. This was for my Non-Permanent Residency dates (NPR) which was also verified via the GCMS notes that I got (said NPR pending verification). Anyway the interview was in Scarborough office and lasted for 5min. Officer verified my date stamps and mentioned that everything looks good. She will make the correction on her end. Even wrote NPR verified on the paper.

I asked when I can expect an update and she mentioned it will later that week or early this week. She even spoke to me about the oath and how she will pass my profile to oath team for scheduling. Till now, no updates and I am honestly a bit frustrated and annoyed by this. The application has not been since and I am not sure why that's the case. There was no additional document or requirements asked apart from verified my NPR days which she did in front of me. I did notice that she was a bit disorganized on her end compared to the other officers who were around her.

Anyone with a similar experience? Every other forum does mention that they receive updates within the next 3-4 business days.
This is mentally and emotionally draining me.

The interview was done less than ten days ago. Just wait for a while yet. Even when staff are totally on the ball, there are delays like this, and even a few days if it gets physically done at the same time as the interview. If that officer is junior and needs to be signed off, even more so.
