October 2021 - Citizenship Applications

Hello all!

Application type: Paper
Location: Mississauga, ON
Physical presence:1107 days
Application: 2 Adults and 2 minors
Application sent: Oct 27th, 2021
Application received: Oct 28th, 2021

Unfortunately, my complete application was returned by Sydney office on 06Jan2022 through mail. Reason of return was that i had failed to attach 2 identification documents for both minors. The application for the adults were deemed complete, yet returned as a family batch. Upon checking the document set, I had enclosed the Passport & PR copy of the minors. I am assuming they were expecting me to share 2 ID documents besides PR. I am thinking to attach the Health Card copies this time and resubmit the documents. Does any one have experienced this before? I am still perplexed if i should fill a fresh application form (newly dated) and resend all the docs, along with a cover letter. Or should i simply re-use the same application forms and just attach the missing ID documents and enclose the cover letter. Will be helpful if anyone, who had been in a similar situation, can share their experience and way forward.

I had faced the same. They expect you to resend the same application with the health card copy of minors. Include a covering letter for better understanding. Keep everything intact. Unfortunately it would now take another 2.5 months for AOR

I have not received AOR yet. So, now we are anxious about the status of our application whether it has been delivered to a wrong address by the courier. We have used Fed Ex to deliver our application and choose the option to get a signature from the receiver. The signature is ‘A. MACNEIL’. If anyone who has used courier to deliver their paper application can confirm if they have a same receiver/ clerk signature that would relieve us from this anxiety as we can be sure that our application has not been lost and it will be just a matter of time when they open it. Thank you.

I had used Fedex too. The A Macneil seems to be a genuine receiver.

I have sent my application October 2nd and received AOR just 2 days ago so I wouldn't worry just yet. Just wait another week or so.
I haven't even had a tracking number for my application so imaging my anxiety that I had. Hope that helps.

we really just followed the checklist.

Last updated Jan 25th but no change.

For wife and son: last updated Jan 25th and I see that their Background checks completed.
