Can u tell me please which email is about pre-arrival?
Hi,

It’s about the pre-arrival services funded by canada (ie. free information about living and working in canada, getting education/work experience, connecting with employers/community).

It’s meant to assist you prior leaving and anticipate what to expect when you land.

We didn’t get any pre-arrival email, or maybe it’s coming.

We sent the passport in today. Looking forward to getting it back and taking a day trip to Ogdensburg, NY.

Good luck and best wishes to everybody. See you on the citizenship board one day.
Thank you for sharing your progress! News like this gives us hope.

Enjoy your new chapter with your fam ☺

My file was moved in Manila office and they asked for additional docs and I already submit them.. Yesterday they started my BGC.. What can I expect from that?
We’ll have to wait for the final decision and ppr. Personally, last update we had was feb 27 for pre-arrival. No notification since then but hoping we’ll progress soon..

Sure

Application received Oct. 4
AOR: Dec 6
Medical Request: Jan 7
Additional Documents req: Jan 14
SA: Jan 15
Procedural Fairness regarding Sponsors intent to live in Canada: March 5
PPR: March 19

There are a few dates I can’t find offhand like processing in Mississauga letter, Medicals passed, etc.

Pretty quick processing in spite of the additional documents request and procedural fairness letter to deal with.

We’re in Ottawa already, my wife is here on a Visitors Visa so we’ll send the passport to the Ottawa address and wait.

I read it takes 2-3 weeks.

Will need figure out how to “land”. I read you can do it in country somehow. We are pretty close to upstate NY and my wife does have an American B1 Visa so easy to get across.
That’s wonderful to hear!

I have a question regarding your spouse. How long can your spouse live in Canada with you? I plan on moving to Halifax within a few weeks and I want my spouse with me. Now based on the timeline it’s usually 12 months give or take - if my spouse comes with me in April that would allow him access for six months ending in roughly September more or less. Let’s say for some god forsaken reason we don’t get his PR within that time, will he have to exit the country or can we apply to extend his stay?

Hoping for a favourable response.

Hello Everyone,

So my spouse passed his medical examination and was passed and posted on the GCKey on the 12th March - since then, we haven’t received any other notification.

What should I expect to come next?

Regards.

BGC > Decision Made/PPR

You can monitor your gckey if BGC will be in progress and/or if there are addtl docs required.

If none, then they will have to finish BGC then provide their final decision.

If when/actual timelines on the next step - it’s always case to case basis (ie. depending on the visa office / bgc results)

Thank you so much for the feedback.

I long for the day when the BGC begins.
My Visa Office is Mexico, I’ve read other Applicants complain of the long waiting time for there - I hope we’re not one of those casualties.

Again, I very much appreciate your feedback.
