bhkr0008 i think our files are with a visa officer who is either lazy or does not think AOR is important....i have requested the notes on my file
and did a case specific inquiry too....lets see if that shows me something...fingers crossed
Was wondering how you will do the CPEnquiry, from the applicant side?
For GCMC notes that will take 1 month to receive and CPEnquiry within couple days, so was thinking which is a better choice?

That's correct. GCMC does take 1 month. We both did a case specific inquiry. All we got was an automated message saying they will get back to us within 30 days.
So I guess both take the same time.
One advantage of the notes is that it would tell you additional information too, like medicals received etc. But there is a CAD 5 fee.

I believe she is referring to case specific inquiry.

Case specific enquiry is basically you provide your UCI/file number and ask a specific question. For example, I asked if the medicals for my wife have been received or not since
the ECAS was not showing any information about the medicals and she did her medicals in July 2014.

GCMS notes and basically the notes put on your file by the visa officers. There are a few categories that the applicant has to clear. I am copy/pasting sample GCMS notes from someone:

ELIGIBILITY
ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT
ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT: 1

ADMISSIBILITIES

SECURITY
SECURITY:1

CRIMINALITY
CRIMINALITY
CRIMINALITY:1

MEDICAL
MEDICAL: 1
Created Date: 2011/03/29 11:04:02

1 stand for pass

As you can see, you can find out the status of the different categories. I know its too early for me to find any useful information from these notes, but I requested one just because
I did not get AOR2.

Yes I sent the documents on October 21st 2014 and they were received on October 22nd.

Does it show medicals received when you login as a sponsor or applicant? Or does it not make a difference?
No document request.

It shows in both.
My reason can be different why I didn't get AOR2 prolly it could be i'm missing something bcz earlier I got request for updated form for IMM1344E which delayed my file by 2 months initially I submitted my file on August 25th which they bumped it to Oct23rd as the new date of submission :(

Hey, could you tell me how to check the status from applicant side. For a sponsor, I know how to check like go to cic.gc.ca and then select sponsor and then sponsoring a spouse outside the canada. But how to check for an applicant? thanks

Its the same website. Instead of using UCI and filling out the sponsors name and DOB you should select the file number and fill in the applicants details.

Guess no luck for me. I can check if i go through sponsor, but tried every possible way to check from an applicant side. But no use, even tried UCI, application number...

I would presume the visa office just gave you the AOR for the applicant and if thats the case then it might take a while to update on ECAS

I think so because I got an email on January 19th stating got approved for sponsorship and they are forwarding file to NDVO and then my wife got this email on Feb 3rd about AOR.. and thats it. Guess things r going in right direction. :'(
