We cannot give a definite timeframe for the whole process. It is case to case.
If everything is ok and you have furnished all the necessary documents you may expect PR in 7-8 months.
Nowadays ...from August, CEC applications are being processed in a good speed.

Hi bravemen,

My application was received on 1st nov ..so probably I should post in November thread. Though I have a question how long should I expect for whole process to get over. I read some people got passport request in 6 months.

Thx

Hi gladaki,

I have added your details in the November 2012 Applications thread.

Yesterday Night , I remember seeing a post by eng3a saying his/her CC almost charged ( $550 taken away , but trasnaction not shown yet). Is there any further update on that? I don't see that post any more.

Yeah credit card statements don't update over the weekend usually.

Hi guys,

I am still confused with Certificate of birth issue via CGI and making Affidavit from Canadian lawyer if I don't have original certificate.

I checked with one of the immigration consultant and they said they never got any file back with reason stating that CIC required copy of original birth certificate (Ppl just submited letter issued by CGI)

Another thing, I been to the lawyer for making affidavit and he said It really does not make sense to him. As per him if they are not accepting certificate birth issued by CGI, then why would they accept a affidavit issue in Canada for not having original birth Certificate by just looking at any ID.
I am confused and need your help.

Please can any one put light on it ...I would really appreciate your help.

It purely depends on the Officer handling your application. Might vary from case to case.

As an evidence of DOB, some Officers' accept Certificate of Date of Birth issued by CGI, some accept School Certificate (showing Father's Name) and some insist on an Affidavit (either executed by the Applicant in Canada or executed by their parents in the Country of Birth).

What is your risk appetite ? If you want to take a chance, send any one of the above three and hope for the best.

If you do not want to take any chance, submit all the three without giving scope for any uncertainty.

It's better to produce affidavit.
Along with affidavit try to attach certificate of birth from CGI.

Hi eng3a :yes FSW means Federal Skilled Worker, and yes, CEC applications show as FSW when money is withdrawn, so it is normal.

Hi braveman,

My credit card has been charged on Nov. 4, 2012.
Also, please include my NOC code: 4012

I have a question, it shows on the transaction: IMMIGRATION CANADA FSW SYDNEY NS

Does FSW mean Federal Skilled Worker? I applied for CEC not FSW?! :)

Good luck for All of you.

Add me please. App received on Oct 5 2012, and charged on Nov 1. By the way, where to edit my signature. I can't see it in my profile. Thanks.

I think you need to post at least 10 messages to be able to modify your profile...
