Did you get 60 days from your second PPR (changed visa office) to submit your passport OR 60 days from the original PPR date?
@ Ashra

Can you please respond? I am keen to know too.

Thanks

Hello guys.

Me and my wife are currently reside out of Canada and would be flying into Canada to complete our landing.

Have a few more questions related to my landing. :)

1. Are the primary applicant and his/her dependant spouse expected to land together?

2. How long is the COPR and/or PR Visa valid for?

3. Also, are there any restrictions as far as the minimun duration of stay required in Canada before leaving the country after completing the landing? I understand that we would be applying for the PR card which may take upto 3 months to get delivered. I can provide a mailing address in Canada for receiving the PR card. I am aware that we would need the PR card to re enter Canada , and I can make arrangements to have it delivered to me here once it is received at the mailing address in Canada. The reason for my asking this is I might not be able to immediately commence my stay as a PR. If the COPR / PR visa is valid long enough, then that works for me, but if it's validity is short, then I might need to complete my landing, return to my country and then travel to Canada again at a later date.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

No requirement as such. If not together, the primary applicant has to land first.
2. How long is the COPR and/or PR Visa valid for?
It is valid for a year from medicals received at CPC date, provided your passport is valid that long.
3. Also, are there any restrictions as far as the minimun duration of stay required in Canada before leaving the country after completing the landing? I understand that we would be applying for the PR card which may take upto 3 months to get delivered. I can provide a mailing address in Canada for receiving the PR card. There is no restrictions as such, but CBSA asks you if you are moving to Canada permanently. If you say no (which you definitely should), your PR card will not be processed at the time.
Any thoughts?

Thank you.

+1 for you thanks :)

On the 3rd point - do you mean to say when I land, on being asked this question I should say 'no'? I could not quite understand 'your PR card will not be processed at the time'. Could you clarify?

You will not be staying permanently at the time of your landing correct? You will be leaving for some time and then return at a later date. I'm assuming you will answer 'NO' when asked that question based on my understanding of your travel plans. Your PR card will not start processing unless you came to stay 'permanently'.

Yes, I am planning to return for 'settlement' at a later date. But if I say 'NO' to the PR card processing then, returning to Canada would mean I would need to apply for a PR travel document, which based on the current processing times here takes 6 months. So I would prefer applying for the PR card and then make arrangements to have it delivered to me when it arrives at the local mailing address that I provide while applying for the card. I am assuming I can provide any mailing address and it need not necessarily be my own address.

Yes, you can provide any address during the time of landing.

Hi experts, I am planning to send my Passport for PPR stamping. I have some quesitions.

1. I am sending a return envelope which has my Friend's local Canada address. But should I need to change the address on the File to get the Passports back in Canada address. (currently I have my Country's permanent address in the file)

2. Should I need to submit all my old passports for PPR stamping? or only current valid passport is enough?

Any thoughts.

Although not required, but you should change the address if that is going to be the point of contact via mail.

No need, unless your old passports are stapled together (happens in case the older passport has a valid visa on it.)

Any thoughts.

One of my friend applied in October 2013 and got married in November and added his wife's application in March and his application approved in June and now he has already completed his Landing.

I just came back from a long vacation, and landed as a PR in YVR airport on June 29th at night. The process was actually quite straightforward, most of the 40 minutes waiting time are due to 10 people ahead of me and only 2 of them speak broken english. Meanwhile, some of these people are missing their documents and had different names between supporting documents and passport. Imagine the confusion going on there.

When it was my turn, the officer only took around 3 minutes to confirm my information, and then she asked me to sign the CoPR. She was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. It was a great landing experience!

My timelines can be found on my profile.
