My OCI application is rejected because my Indian passport have middle name and Canadian passport doesn’t.

So Indian passport is as following:
Mukeshbhai Govindbhai Patel

Canadian passport is as following:
Mukeshbhai G. Patel.

(Dummy name is used)
I just spoke with High Commission Ottawa and the lady on the phone confirmed this.

Canadian passport can only contain 15 letter as given name. I told her this and she said its not true. She sais before they accepted affidavit but not anymore.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I am also facing a similar problem. What did you do to fix this issue?

I am getting really anxious and confused regarding what to do. Any help regarding this would be highly appreciated.

Your given name exceeded 15 alphabets?
Not exactly the same. I am facing an issue with the Place of birth. It is different in Indian and Canadian passport. I was thinking about getting an affidavit for the same but want to make sure if they will accept an affidavit for this or not?

When you say place of birth is different, is it some other place mentioned or truncation of the original place of birth?

This is what the place of birth is present in the documents:

- Most recent Indian Passport: Salipur, Odisha
- Previous Indian Passport: Salipur Cuttack Odisha
- Canadian Passport: Cuttack, India
- Indian Birth certificate it is mentioned as Salipur, Cuttack, Odisha, India

Will this create any issue? Any idea of the format of the affidavit I should submit?

Based on this post I think you are good as Salipur is a town in Cuttack District. Issue would have been if it would be something else as in some other district different than Cuttack.
