Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding obtaining my work permit through the Canada border services.

About me:
I entered Canada as an international student at Canada College in Montreal in September 2017. I finished my studies in August 2018 and just got my renewed Iranian Passport yesterday. I have a job offer available through a friend, but I cannot get hired until this work permit is ready.

I've asked a few people and they said I need to visit the canada-US border and I can get my work permit the same day.

I gave my biometrics at the Iranian embassy in turkey.
my iranian passport is brand new and has just been renewed
i can apply at the ST-ARMAND/PHILIPSBURG border.

My questions:
1. Besides my passport, my study permit, what other documents will I need?
2. Am I even eligible to apply for a visa permit at the Canada Border Services?
Should I be aware of anything important?
3. Does anyone have any advice to give?

Thank you so much

Unless you have a Post Graduate Work Permit, you will not be able take up employment via a work permit without also having an approved LMIA through your prospective employer.

You need to look up the documents needed for a PGWP. You need things like proof of graduation, would bring your transcripts, etc.
