Hi all,
I did my oath in Saskatoon this morning, there were 67 applicants from 18 countries, they took PRC and media coverage letter (permission to take photo form) and checked Oath invitation letter. The ceremony took around 90 minutes.
Congrats. My oath in Prince Albert on April/24

My oath invite instructs me to bring:
- invite itself
- two IDs
- all of the original documents submitted with the citizenship application - Immigration Record of Landing or CoPR
- PR card
- all passports and travel documents in my possession
- holy book of choice (optionally)

3rd request is a little weird, but manageable.
The third request is ONLY for your Immigration Record or CoPR .. not all the original documents. Punctuation is important to note in that statement ;)

It is weird as there is no need to submit any of those two documents with the C-6 based citizenship application. And here is the exact wording:

all of the original documents that you submitted with your citizenship application - Immigration Record of Landing (IMM1000) or Corfirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688);

I understand that, however, it is only looking for the IMM1000 or the CoPR. Once upon a time ago, those documents used to be required perhaps it is an 'artifact' from that era?

When I had my interview the IRCC officer specifically told me that all I would need is the CoPR and my PR Card. I will also obviously have my ID, because that is in my wallet, and will take my passport only because this letter states I need to.

I guess what I am trying to say, is that taking ALL of the documents submitted with your citizenship application to the oath ceremony is just not feasible. You've already passed all that investigation portion and now you are there to proudly wave your "red white and leaf" :D

Could you please confirm which documents you took to oath and which documents were checked? Thanks

There was just an answer to this question in the 'windsor applicants' thread. The Oath letter, media release signatory (the last page of oath invite), PR Card and original CoPR.

Well..the original CoPR is with the government, you can't take that one

You have your original client copy. IRCC has a photo copy of that. If you do NOT have your original CoPR then you need to get a VoS in lieu of that.

Hi al, I have a question. My Notice to Appear to write the citizenship test or for verification of documents mentioned that for the interview/test, I MUST bring:
- 1. Government ID
-2. add piece of photo ID
-3. PR
-4. Landing papers confirmation if PR
-5. Current/Expired passports
-6. A CERTIFEID TRANSLATION OF ANY PASSPORTS PAGES THAT HAVE VISAS, ENTRY/EXIT STAMPS, OR NOTES THAT ARE NOT IN ONE CANADA'S OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
-7. Photocopy of the Bio-data pages of all current & Expirted passports in my possession.

Question here is:
CAPITAL LETTERS point No6: Do I need to bring all my stamps (not English) translated by an official translator? I have around 20 pages

If they are not in English or French then I would get them translated. It is never a guarantee they will be asked for, however, if you don't translate them and they do ask for them for verification, it's going to slow your application down while you wait and have them translated and get them back to IRCC and so on and so forth. It is stated to bring them with you, so I would do so and ensure they are ready if asked for.

There is no need to translate by offical translator. Anyone (not your relative) fluent in both languages can translate the stamps and sign an affidavit.

Any suggestion about taking an infant to Oath Ceremony on our own or must arrange a child care?

You can only bring the child if he's becoming a canadian along with you. And if you do so, you'll need to invite an adult to the ceremony in all cases : you can't leave the ceremony room at any moment, the person you invite would then take care of the child. Same if he's not becoming canadian... He would then sit with that adult first place :)

Oh, and regarding the link by @foodie69, kinda infortunate, but nothing else. If you think you'd like to have your son or daughter with you, do so. It's a special day to you and you want to share it with your loved ones. Your child is the dearest person to you... Actually, some baby made (small) noise at my ceremony. Didn't bother anyone :)
