My friend from Toronto applied in April and already got his Oath in October.
It was under new procedure in Mississauga CIC. (No RQ)

I agree, but I am trying to connect the fact that OTTWA2013 asked for his report on the 10th and after 11 days we are seeing a big shift in his application.

-Application recd, mid-Nov, 2013 ;
-Process started, early Feb, 2014 ;
-Recd Fingerprinting req, mid-Jun ;
-Invite to Testing for Sept 8. During the interview the agent told me waiting time for the next step is 4 months and she'll need me to submit extra info..
-RQ letter recd some two weeks after the test asking for the extra info.

The fact is , unless you know already that your application is approved !, the ATIP will tell you if it is or not, and when it was approved
when they told us wait 1-3 months after the test, the only thing makes since to me is 3 months after the approval of the application
so i think it's worth it to ask for it.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with the local office,my friend's office is Mississauga and he received the scary RQ cit0171 at the interview, he applied on Feb 2014 so still some people are unlucky and get the Big RQ with old procedure and some are lucky and get the mini RQ cit 0520.

Difference is the mini RQ (CIT0520) does not go to St.clair office and gets processed in your local office with fast processing times usually 2 -3 months
