If I am outside of Canada for say 4 years, but I still pay taxes on my worldwide income (am in fact a factual resident), do these years count towards OAS eligibility?

For example:

I have been in Canada for 20 years. These years will count towards OAS.

I left Canada last August for 4 years to travel and study. I have residential, banking ties to Canada (I am renting my primary residence) and have online income. I will pay taxes on my income in the next 4 years. Will these 4 years count towards OAS?

Any experts here?
