Hi,

I am living in Canada from last 2 years and 3 months. I came here for 1 year of post secondary education. After completing that I got 1 year of work permit and worked here in Canada for 10 months with a lot of Overtime. More than 2000 hrs in 10 months with a really good pay. Now my work permit is expiring soon and government had made so hard to get LMO that companies are not helping employees get the LMO anymore.

So I am curious that if I apply for PR under CEC with approx 2000 hrs of work, what chances are there that it will get denied. Because on CIC website its only written that the applicant have to work minimum 30 hrs a week for 1 year. But for me I have worked 40 hrs/week with alot of Overtime..

Please suggest what should I do..

Any help or suggestion would be really appreciated.

Thank you..

You must have one year of full time work to qualify. You cannot use overtime hours to compensate for missing days.

If I understand correctly, you have worked for 10 months. If so, you have zero chance of being approved under CEC. You need one full year of actual full time work to qualify.

Was it a post-graduate work permit? If so, you have an advantage, LMOs are easier to get if you are currently on a PGWPP. Showing your current (or prospective) employer may increase their willingness to try for the LMO...
