Yes!! Dec applicant still waiting for background check to change in progress!! I can not get why they have delay in some cases??

Hello Folks

I called CIC again yesterday and came to know that my application has been complete (Means: Eligibility, Criminality, Medical, Background & security: passed).

After all, this is it possible that CIC will start another background check? Please help.

I called CIC yesterday. They said security is still pending. MyCIC account changed to in progress on 13th January 2017.

I was wondering if change of background check status to in progress supposed to mean PACE? Or is just an indication that the security check had started a while ago but the status just got updated on MyCIC account?

Is it worth ordering a GCMS note at this point?

This is a good question because if the location is PACE means that your security is already passed and change into progress means that they do the final review. In my case, still background is not needes at this time and I am hoping that they have started the security because I did my medicals in November!

My ECAS is showing medical passed but there is nothing else after that, it has been more then one month.
Should I be worried?

I have a minor criminal record which is off the record now. My RCMP screening shows No Reportable Trace but still my criminality is not passed, its on hold. That makes my case different than all of you. My file location was changed to PS-admin on Nov 30 and medical was passed on Nov 26.
I am sure because the record of conditional discharge is deleted from RCMP, it will not affect the decison but my file is transferred to some other officer.

My file location is : In Transit Tranfer Reason: Eligibility.

I hope everything will end well.

They have increased number of express entry invitations this year and that's why they are slowly processing our cases. Still background not needed 2 months after passing medicals.

Here is my time line.
1.We received your application for permanent residence on December 3, 2015.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 2, 2016.
3.We started processing your application on March 3, 2016.
4.Medical results have been received. (I got medical request on Nov2,16 and they post this message on Jan5,2017)
And I checked my CIC on Jan19,17, the Background changed to "in progress".
One of your friend got medical request late than me, and he got passport request already.
I don't know why I still don't get my passport request.
