I took it outside Canada. My letter also did not contain that "must take it in Canada" provision; I believe they removed it recently.

I applied from Calgary, but my application is being processed in Vancouver. They marked it complete in a little over a week with no issues.

Okay perfect. I was also reading on this forum and through google searches that they may call people who took the test outside of Canada for an interview with an officer, and potentially delaying processing, asking for flight tickets etc. I find it hard to wrap my head around these comments, as the letter, as you say as well, removed the provision for requesting them to take it outside of canada. Have all your other steps also been approved/completed processing? thank you for your advice!

No. Security is finished. Criminality isn't, so background doesn't show complete. I have an October AOR. Only test is complete.

When In doubt, check with IRCC.

Hello all, I am waiting my Oath outside of Canada and ready to travel in short notice. But I am thinking about passport application. My plan is to take the Oath, wait for e-certificate and apply urgent (next day) passport and travel back. And return Canada later.

In this situation, do I use in Canada passport application? Can you put foreign address to that form? Because right now current address is outside Canada.

That's my plan as well, I guess it will work. Did you apply for citizenship from outside of Canada?

No, I applied inside Canada, and then travelled. How about you, and which form you are planning to use?

Since we have to apply from Canada, we need to use passport application form "from within Canada". There are two address blocks, I guess we can populate foreign address on both.
Second option is to put a friend/family's Canadian address on the "Current home address" and foreign address on "Mailing Address"

Hey guys, today was my mom’s ceremony.
even tho we chose electronic certificate, they gave us a physical copy.
they said if your ceremony in person doesn’t matter what you chose it will be a paper certificate. Which is okay with me.
best of luck everyone, you are almost there!

Yes, that makes sense. I have filled the form using that "in Canada" form, and I put my foreign address. But because I am going to apply next day express passport, I think it is not going to be sent by mail, but you need / can pick it up yourself?

So, you provided US address in "Current home address" as well as Mailing address? You have the option to pick the passport, tell them at the time of applying in person.

My test date will expire before I return, so only option is to take it from outside Canada.
My friend took his citizenship test outside canada. You surely can give test outside canada. When Ircc sends you the invite for the test , it’s written on the letter that if you are outside canada then to email them. ( They mention the email address on the letter) If the letter doesn’t mention this then it means you can go ahead and give the test without informing them. ( someone did that ) there was no impact on the duration of getting oath invite.
