Hey everyone, I'm pretty concerned about this impending strike for the iRCC workers. We are so close to the end here, and I feel like it's going to set us all back months :(

The Vancouver office is slow to begin with, I'm wondering if anyone will have any movement this week... so far it looks quiet!

Crossing my fingers for some updates...

Seeing very little progress this week. I'm guessing they have lost motivation/incentive to move the files quickly and watching what happens with the strike/negotiation with the government.

This is very frustrating situation for everyone. A strike will happen when negotiations fails. However negotiations are still in progress until April 20th. Let’s hope a deal can be reached and strike can be avoided. Because this strike will affect everyone in some way if it goes through.

Who told you that applications are processed at the place of residence?
My application is from Vancouver.
Yesterday I received a letter about the processing of language skills.
From Calgary.
Most likely, the local office will ONLY schedule the language test.
Further, everything happens in the general service of the country.

Yes very frustrating for everyone (even beyond IRCC) because so many services will be interrupted.

If anyone hears an update please do post. I'm keeping a close eye on the news this week - and if anyone gets updates please post... it gives us hope they are still working in the applications.

I never said that applications are processed in the place of residence. I just stated the Vancouver office was slow.

Happy to see you got a recent update.

Also yesterday were sent extra. documents via WEB form. Confirmation has been received today that the documents have been added to the file.
So - IRCC works.

Hi Just wondering, what is test interview referring to here ? Do you have to go for in-person interview ?
Pre-COVID-19 Test & interview happened in-person on the same day. Everyone 18-54 was required to attend an interview. Post COVID-19 the interview component has been temporarily suspended. Now, certain randomly selected applicants are still required to attend an interview. This can be either in-person or over video conferencing. We are not sure when they are going to bring back mandatory interviews for everyone who requires it...
