It seems like they've really been pushing the online format recently. Especially when speaking about initiatives they're going to further invest in, online processing has been quite a big thing. I personally don't see them going to the in-person format anytime soon, but I may be wrong. Just recently they announced the further expansion of e-applications to families and minors.
let's just hope that they will be able to process faster. Online here and been waiting for 8 months here, no progress so far.

"
Citizenship grants
  • The citizenship grant inventory has grown over the pandemic, due to a traditionally paper-based process. As of the end of January 2022, it stood at around 459,700 applications, with a 26‑month processing time.
  • The Department has modernized its program delivery, offering a digital intake for grants and proofs, and doing online tests and virtual ceremonies. We are currently processing a volume of new citizens comparable to pre-pandemic levels. "
New Update. we need to start a citizenship specific petition and ask some hard, to the point questions? any body is good with writing petition here?

Not everyone is Tech Savvy!! And by the way, judging by the number of people who missed their test or whose tests were not accepted just because they misunderstood the instructions or didn't know how to upload the photos or simply the internet got disconnected in the middle of the exam, this is an added burdened.
My apologies I did not realize that you had to be tech savvy in order to read instructions. I was mainly addressing the issue that you experienced which could have been avoided with a little more attention. I hope that they will find a solution for you regardless.

Your response ignores people who have all sorts of disabilities and are not tech savvy to handle a system that even IRCC is grappling to put in place! The talk was not about me but about people who complained about difficulties following instructions and difficulties with uploads DESPITE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS! And no, online doesn't always mean ease of use. Have you ever heard about USABILITY and customer-based design? maybe you IRCC can use some! Also I have not taken the test myself, and while I don't expect any issues on my end, it doesn't mean it's legitimate to minimize other people's difficulties for whatever reasons!!!

I received my GCMS notes last week... nothing has started yet. Applied online, AOR feb 2, and absolutely nothing new since. No test, no bg check, nothing. I stopped studying for the test a month ago cause I knew I’d forget everything by waiting this long for the test invite.
Primary office is Sydney, secondary is Montreal as per the notes.

When I applied for citizenship last November, I was happy, making plans for traveling in Fall 2022 using my Canadian passport, thinking that the hard part (PR) was over and this will be different... it wasn’t.
